BEYOND THE CAMERA
Austin Skinner is an American backyard professional wrestler. He is currently signed to Ring Of Action (ROA) Wrestling, under the ring-name, AJ Fatal (formerly known as "The White Machismo" AJ Fatal). Fatal is also the current host of Ring Of Action Wrestling's 'The Fatal Truth', an interviewing segment that is held after ROA events. He is perhaps best known for his overly cocky character, ring presence and enthralling rants.
Fatal officially signed with ROA Wrestling in early 2010 and became an instant hit. Then billed as "The White Machismo" AJ Fatal, he wore mock-up Randy 'Macho Man' Savage-like ring attire, even mirroring the likeness of the former WWF star. Shortly after his debut, Fatal began a short journey to the Intercontinental Championship belt. After capturing the title, Fatal kept it for nearly an entire ROA Wrestling season (he is the second longest reigning champion). AJ Fatal finished his 2010 wrestling season: 14-12-1.
By the time the 2011 ROA season rolled around Fatal was looking for a change. Early on, after loosing the Intercontinental Championship to Damien Wolf, he got just that. Fatal shockingly dropped his 'White Machismo' gimmick as well as his Randy Savage likeness and turned his back on the people that once cheered him. He, Damien Wolf, and Mike Evens formed a stable, appropriately titled 'Revolution'. Through Revolution, AJ Fatal was able to quickly find himself on the hunt for the ROA Heavyweight Championship and would win it mid-season, at the ROA Free-Per-View, Revival. Though it was considered a controversial win, Fatal became champion. However, he would only hold it a short time, due to a severe injury he sustained the following month. Inactive but still appearing on camera, Fatal finished his 2011 wrestling season: 10-8-1.
As the 2012 ROA Wrestling season officially began, AJ Fatal kicked off his record with a 1-0, pinning Troy Daniels in a Handicap Match. This win would also mark AJ's first match back since his ankle injury in late 2011. Deeper into the season, it seemed as if the ROA audience would never see AJ again, as he had abruptly turned his back on the company. He then shockingly returned and solidified his talk show's place in ROA, by defeating Joey Cage, to Reinstate The Fatal Truth. By Revival 2012, AJ Fatal returned to ROA Championship gold. He and his Revolution running-mate, Damien Wolf, threw the match out. After Damien tapped out to a Pinkie Hold, Fatal was crowned the new ROA Champion for the second time in his career. He would go on to lose The Championship just one month later, at the 2012 edition of Unbreakable. He would be dethroned by long-time rival, Mike Evans, after a hard-fought Strap Match. The next week, AJ announced that he would be stepping away from full time in-ring singles competition, thus ending his 2012 wrestling season: 13-7-1. At Nightmare 2012, AJ Fatal was presumed to be kidnapped and held against his will. Fatal finished his 2012 wrestling season: 13-7-1.
AJ Fatal wasn't able to officially start his 2013 season until he was found and released by Revolution friend, Damien Wolf. Fatal was forever changed mentally after spending months against his will in a basement. He began declining matches and refusing to participate, even walking out on his Revolution partner at Resurrection 2013. Fatal would confront Wolf, basically blaming him for his kidnapping and by ROA: Unscripted 2013, Fatal would kidnap Wolf and challenge him to a boiler room brawl for the ROA Championship. Fatal would let Wolf escape after realizing that evidence had revealed that former rivals, Jeremy Sydal and Mike Evans were the captors. Due to this information, Fatal would disappear for a few weeks until he brutally attacked Criss Storm (causing Storm serious hip damage). With Storm on the shelf, the deranged Fatal promised he'd put Storm away forever when he was able to return. Storm would return at Over Drive 2013, where he would meet AJ Fatal and finally get his revenge. Shifting focus, Revolution began their hunt for the ROA Tag Team Championships soon after this defeat. They would capture the belts at Revival 2013 and retired them the week later. After capturing and retiring the Tag Team belts, Fatal would once again cross paths with Criss Storm. He would defeat Storm at Unbreakable 2013 for the ROA Championship and successfully defend it on part II of the show against Joesph Cage. In a rematch for the ROA Championship, Fatal would fight Storm in a "Revolution Rules" match at Nightmare 2013. Fatal would win the match but be blindsided by Damien Wolf afterward. Shockingly, Wolf would restart the match allowing Storm to pin Fatal for the ROA Championship. This would mark the end of AJ Fatal's title reign, Revolution as a tag team, and ultimately, the 2013 season. Fatal finished his wrestling season: 11-9-0.
AJ Fatal's 2014 season would start with a bang, having great matches with Criss Storm, Schimizzi and Joseph Cage before becoming the special referee for the ROA Championship main event between Criss Storm and Bradley Tragedy at ROA: Unscripted. After interjecting himself in the match due to a inadvertent attack complements of Criss Storm, Fatal retaliated with a fast count and awarded Bradley Tragedy with the ROA Championship. Fatal would go on to face both Tragedy and Storm in singles matches before a huge triple-threat main event at Fallen. Promising to not resign with the company, Fatal threatened to win the championship and never return it. The unthinkable would happen when Fatal shockingly beat Criss Storm and Bradley Tragedy at Fallen and left as he promised. With the original ROA Championship gone, a new champion would be crowned. Schimizzi would step up and become a fighting ROA Champion at Overdrive. AJ Fatal, from a luxurious vacation on the Jersey Shore, would begin to belittle Schimizzi and his "illegitimate" championship via video submissions. The two would exchange back and forth for weeks before AJ Fatal would surprisingly return to fight Schimizzi at Revival to determine who the real champion was once and for all. The match would go on to become match of the year and Schimizzi would unify the two championships forever. A rematch between the two wouldn't be seen until Unscripted V where Fatal would again walk away without the gold. Down on his luck and looking to rebuild his former glory, Fatal would seek out his former Revolution partner Damien Wolf for a possible rebirth of the great team. Damien would continuously shoot down Fatal's efforts and decline his offers of a Revolution rekindling, claiming he'd rather be dead than tag with him again. Taking Wolf up on his word, AJ Fatal would challenge him to a body bag match for 2014's Nightmare event. AJ Fatal's Revolution desires would go unanswered as Damien Wolf would defeat him in their legendary clash at Nightmare. AJ Fatal would officially end his season: 6-10-0.
